Usage examples

The operating records shall include, if appropriate, for each material balance area: ... (b) the data obtained from the calibration of tanks and instruments and from sampling and analysis, the procedures to control the quality of measurements and the derived estimates of random and systematic error ...
Random error is equal to error minus systematic error. Because only a finite number of measurements can be made, it is possible to determine only an estimate of random error.
