This standard applies to lettuces of Lactuca sativa L. var. capitata L. of varieties (cultivars) derived from (cabbage (head) lettuces including 'crisphead' and Iceberg 'type' lettuces) of Lactuca sativa L. var. longifolia Lam. (cos or romaine lettuces) and from crosses of these two varieties, to be supplied fresh to the consumer, excluding cutting lettuces.
