  • surnu lihaste jäikus, mis tekib mõne tunni möödumisel surmast ja kaob mõne päeva pärast
  • the stiffening of a dead body that typically begins (in humans) within a few hours after death and lasts for several days
Good to know
  • Rigor mortis is believed to result from the formation of inextensible complexes of actin and myosin in muscle tissue after death, hardening the muscles and immobilizing joints, and persisting until decomposition begins. The degree of rigor mortis along with body temperature can be used to provide a rough estimate of the time of death.
