  • Euroopa Liidu majanduspoliitiliseks tähtsündmuseks oli 1. jaanuarist 1999 alanud Euroopa Majandus- ja Rahaliidu (EMU) kolmas etapp, mille alguses seoti 11 liikmesriigi valuutad muutumatult üksteisega.
