Aid granted for investments relating to the beef sector, other than aid for safeguarding the environment, improvement of hygiene conditions on livestock enterprises and animal welfare, where there is no increase in capacity, shall be restricted to livestock enterprises where the beef-cattle stocking rate does not, in the final year of the plan, exceed 3, 2,5 and 2 livestock units (LU) per hectare of forage area used for feeding the cattle for plans ending respectively in 1994, 1995 and 1996 or later. The limits of 2,5 and 2 LU per hectare shall apply only to applications submitted as from 1 January 1994.
