Report on the quality of statistics. For each of the characteristics listed in Section 4, point 4, Member States will indicate the degree of precision by reference to a confidence level of 95 %, which the Commission will include in the report provided for in Article 14 of this Regulation, taking account of the application in each Member State of that Article.
The total found is called the Most Likely Error (MLE). The MLE is then multiplied by an technical adjustment factor (not explained here). This adjustment factor can be calculated exactly using audit software. Otherwise it can be assumed to be 1.7 at a confidence level of 95% or 1.45 at a confidence level of 85%.
