Käesoleva seaduse alusel makstav riiklik pension on solidaarsuspõhimõttele tuginev igakuine rahaline sotsiaalkindlustushüvitis vanaduse, töövõimetuse või toitja kaotuse korral, mida makstakse riigieelarves riikliku pensionikindlustuse kuludeks määratud vahenditest.
