However, where amounts expressed in Ecus are converted into pounds sterling or Irish pounds, the reference to the first two decimal places in paragraph 1 shall be read as if it were a reference to the first four decimal places. In such cases where the fifth place is five or more the fourth decimal place shall be rounded up to the next unit and where the fifth place is less than five the fourth place shall remain the same.
