  • (1) Vallasasja võib pandiga koormata selliselt, et panditud asi antakse üle pandipidaja valdusse ja lepitakse kokku käsipandi seadmises. Asja võib pandiga koormata ka selliselt, et asi antakse üle kolmandale isikule ja pandipidaja saab panditud asjale kaudse valduse. (2) Käsipandi kohta sätestatut kohaldatakse vastavalt ka seaduse alusel tekkinud vallaspandiõigusele, kui seaduses ei ole sätestatud teisiti. (3) Kui vallasasi on koormatud mitme pandiõigusega, määratakse pandiõiguse järjekoht pandiõiguse tekkimise ajaga.

A thing may also be encumbered by a pledge so that the thing is transferred to a third person and the pledgee obtains indirect possession of the pledged thing. (2) The provisions concerning possessory pledges apply correspondingly to any right of security over movables which is created pursuant to law, unless otherwise provided by law. (3) If a movable is encumbered with several rights of security, the rankings of the rights of security shall be specified according to the time of creation of the rights of security.
