  • The affinity of a redox pair towards electrons, measured in the difference of voltage between redox pair and a standard (hydrogen electrode). The standard is equaled to zero. Standard redox potential E is measured on 298 K and 1 atm pressure using 1M solutions. E0 designates redoxpotential at pH 0, E0' at pH 7. In electron transport chains, redox pairs are ordered by their redox potential, starting from the lower values (from negative to positive).

  • Vesinikelektroodi redokspotentsiaal loetakse võrdseks nulliga. Standard redokspotentsiaal E mõõdetakse 298 K ja 1 atm rõhu juures kasutades 1M lahuseid. E0 tähistab redokspotentsiaali pH 0 juures, E0' pH 7 juures. Elektronide transportahelates redokspaarid paiknevad suureneva redokspotentsiaali (negatiivsemalt positiivsemale) järjekorras.
