dialogue that states the obvious; characters tell each other exactly how they feel and what they are thinking, leaving no room for subtext, (Friedmann & Walker, 2012) dialogue which too plainly reveals the character, and more importantly, the author’s intentions. Often, dialogue will simply repeat what action has immediately preceded it. (Grove, 2009)
