Hea teada
'financial institution'il on veel kaks võimalikku vastet: 1) rahandusasutus - tähendus on sama, mis ingliskeelsel terminil 'monetary authority' - vt vastavat kirjet; 2) finantseerimisasutus - tegemist on ikka rahaasutustega, kuid vahel võib kontekst osutada, et oluline on kellegi/millegi finantseerimise aspekt. Eesti Pank suhtleb teiste riikide keskpankade ning muude rahaasutustega ning tal on õigus sooritada nendega käesolevas seaduses loetletud ülesannete täitmiseks vajalikke tehinguid.
Kasutada "financial institution'i" ja "monetary institution'i" tõlkeks juhtudel, kui kontekstist ei selgu, kas mõeldakse rahaasutusi või rahandusasutusi. [26.02.1999]
Banking and other financial services are well developed. Iceland has several commercial branches throughout the country and a number of savings banks. Other financial institutions include the government-owned investment credit funds, private pension funds, insurance companies, and the social insurance system
The Bank of Canada implements its monetary policies through its relations with the 11 chartered (commercial) banks, which are at the centre of the financial system and rather highly developed. Although there are other financial institutions - credit unions, provincial savings banks, trust and mortgage-loan companies - the chartered banks remain the main financial institutions, even in some specialized activities. They are relatively free from controls on activities involving foreign exchange.
