Such unpackaged articles may be fixed to cradles or contained in crates or other suitable handling, storage or launching devices in such a way that they will not become loose during normal conditions of carriage.
This container is constructed of three-piece aluminum with each section (cover, upper section and lower section) attached by quarter-turn twist latches. Dimensions are 48" L x 40" W x 48" H with a collapsed height of 11 1/4". Empty it weighs 190 lbs, loaded - 1,594 lbs. It's designed for shipping and storing 36 AN/SSQ-110 Mods Sonobuoy in their launching containers, but can be designed and manufactured in other sizes. The containers are stackable and easily handled by forklift, pallet truck and pallet sling.
