Domain analytical chemistrymeasuring instruments
  • an instrument for comparing the thermal conductivities of two gases by comparing the rate of loss of heat from two heating coils surrounded by the gases
kataromeeter
Usage examples
  • Aerosoolproovide puhul kasutada detektorina kataromeetrit.
soojusjuhtivusdetektor
katharometer
TCD abbreviation
katharometer detector
Usage examples
  • 6.2. Gas chromatography 6.2.1. For aerosol samples the katharometer detector is used
catharometer detector
Usage examples
  • As an alternative a gas chromatograph employing a catharometer detector (working on the principle of thermal conductivity changes) may be used.

kataromeeter deprecated
  • mõõtevahend gaasisegu koostise kindlaksmääramiseks soojusjuhtivuse mõõtmise teel, mida on ka kasutatud põhiainevahetuskiiruse mõõtmiseks, mõõtes süsinikdioksiidi tootmise kiirust väljahingatud õhu koostise põhjal
  • apparatus for determining the composition of a gas mixture by measuring thermal conductivity that has been used to determine the basal metabolic rate by measuring the rate of production of carbon dioxide based on the composition of expired air
soojusjuhtivusmõõtur preferred
Usage examples
kataromeeter deprecated
Good to know
  • Meeter on pikkusühik.
thermal conductivity detector preferred
Usage examples
  • The thermal conductivity detector senses changes in the thermal conductivity of the column eluent and compares it to a reference flow of carrier gas. Since most compounds have a thermal conductivity much less than that of the common carrier gases of helium or hydrogen, when an analyte elutes from the column the effluent thermal conductivity is reduced, and a detectable signal is produced.
