... interbranch organizations set up on the initiative of individual or already grouped operators can, if they account for a significant proportion of the members of the various occupational categories of the fruit and vegetable sector, contribute to behaviour taking closer account of market realities and facilitate a commercial approach that will improve production reporting, that is to say the organization of production, product presentation and marketing.
In order to encourage action by trade and joint trade organizations to facilitate the adjustment of supply to market requirements, the following Community measures may be taken in respect of the products listed in Article 1: (a) measures to improve sheep and goat farming; (b) measures to promote better organization of production, processing and marketing; (c) measures to improve quality; (d) measures to permit the establishment of short- and long-term forecasts on the basis of the means of production used; (e) measures to facilitate the recording of market price trends.
