  • an elongated hill/positive glacial landform in the shape of an inverted spoon or half-buried egg formed by glacial ice acting on underlying unconsolidated sediments. It consists of till and/or glaciofluvial deposits. A drumlin's long axis is parallel with the movement of the ice; it is roughly symmetrical around the long axis. Drumlins are typically from few hundred m to 1-2 km long, less than 50 m high and between 300 to 600 metres wide with length/width ratio 1/4-1/10. Drumlins are often in drumlin fields of similarly shaped, sized and oriented hills.
