  • plastse külmdeformeerimise tulemusena metalli omaduste muutumine - tugevuse ja kõvaduse suurenemine ning plastsuse ja sitkuse vähenemine (vt kalestamine)
    Good to know
    • See kõvenemine (tugevnemine) toimub tänu dislokatsioonide tekkele ja dislokatsioonide liikumisele materjali kristallstruktuuris. Kalestunud struktuuri saab kõrvaldada rekristalliseeriva lõõmutamise abil. (vt dislokatsioon, rekristalliseeriv lõõmutus)
  • strengthening (increase in strength and hardness, ie resistance to plastic deformation) produced by plastic deformation (see: strain hardening)
    Good to know
    • This strengthening occurs because of dislocation movements and dislocation generation within the crystal structure of the material. Work-hardened structure can be removed by recrystallization heat treatment. (see: dislocation, recrystallization annealing)
