Tallinna Tähetornis vaadeldi mitme aastakümne jooksul varjutusmuutlikke lähiskaksiktähti fotomeetriliselt ja elektrofotomeetriliselt Peep Kalvi eestvedamisel ning Linda Kalvi ja teiste Tallinna tähetorni astronoomide, sealhulgas ka Voldemar Harvigi osavõtul. Kõige rohkem Tõravere astronoomidest on lähiskaksiktähti uurinud Izold Pustõlnik.
We adopt a test bench for our experiments based on a binary system similar to γ Cephei, whose disc around the primary star has been extensively studied by means of hydrodynamics simulations. This system can be considered a prototype of close binary systems in which the binary companion is strongly affecting the circumprimary disc.
