NATO strateegilise õhutranspordivõime programmi raames hankisid selles osalevad riigid ühiselt kolm Boeing C-17 Globemaster III-tüüpi transpordilennukit, millede kasutamine on riikide vahel ära jagatud. Eesti saab SAC programmiga 45 lennutundi aastas, millega on võimalik teha näiteks kuus lendu marsruudil Tallinn-Kabul.
Ten NATO countries plus two partner countries have signed a Memorandum of Understanding confirming their participation in Strategic Airlift Capability (SAC) initiative to acquire, manage, support and operate three Boeing C-17 strategic transport aircraft.
