Tööinspektsioon kooskõlastatult EKIga (Rein Kull) ja meditsiiniterminoloogia komisjoniga (prof Pavel Bogovski, Kliinilise Meditsiini Instituut) on seisukohal, et eesti keeles tuleks kasutada "isikukaitsevahend". Seda kasutatakse ka paljudes töökaitsealastes Eesti õigusaktides ja uutes masinaohutuse standardites. [02.01.2001]
