Telefonid töötavad 1800 MHz sagedusala sagedusribas 1710 – 1880 MHz. Telefoni vastuvõtjate (RX) sagedusriba 1805 – 1880 MHz (Downlink) ja saatjate (TX) sagedusriba 1710 - 1785 MHz (Uplink). RF-kanalite vahe 200 KHz ning dupleksvahe 95 MHz. Raadiokanalite koguarv 1800 MHz sagedusalas on 375, loogilisi TDMA-kanaleid 3000. Igale operaatorile jääb seega kasutamiseks ca 1000 loogilist kanalit ehk rohkem kui GSM 900 puhul kolme peale kokku.
