Domain spacecraft & rockets
  • orbiidilt Maa jälgimiseks mõeldud mittesõjalise otstarbega (näiteks keskkonna monitooring, meteoroloogia, kartograafia) satelliit
  • satellite specifically designed for Earth observation from orbit, similar to spy satellites but intended for non-military use such as environmental monitoring, meteorology and cartography
    Good to know
    • See also: reconnaissance satellite (related) [ IATE:1153588 ]
kaugseiresatelliit
Usage examples
  • Maad pildistavaid satelliite nimetatakse kaugseiresatelliitideks, sest kaugseire kujutab endast informatsiooni kogumist või teatud maa-ala kaardistamist vahetult kohapeal viibimata.
Earth observation satellite
Usage examples
  • Earth Observation satellites vary according to the type of orbit they have, the payload they carry, and, from the point of view of imaging instruments, the spatial resolution, spectral characteristics and swath width of the sensors.
