  • Following the introduction of the European Stability Mechanism (ESM), the EFSM will continue to operate for a time in parallel with the ESM. Once the EFSM ceases to exist as a eurozone support mechanism, the budgetary resources it uses will return to being used for financial assistance for non-eurozone countries.
