Kaht polüküllastumata rasvhapet (asendamatud rasvhapped), linool- (oomega-6-rasvhape) ja linoleenhapet (oomega-3-rasvhape) ei ole inimorganism võimeline iseseisvalt tootma, mistõttu peab neid saama toiduga.
