Risoom roomav, maapealne. Lehti 2 või 3, neerjad, pealt läikivad, alt pehmekarvased, pika rootsuga. Alalehed tumepruunid, soomusjad. Õied pruunikaspunased, korrapärased, longus, võsude tipus üksikult, peaaegu maapinnal. Katkihõõrumisel taim pipra lõhnaga. Kõrgus 5-10 cm.
