(1) Vabatahtlik merepäästja käesoleva seaduse tähenduses on isik: 1) kes on selle mittetulundusühingu liige, kellega Politsei- ja Piirivalveamet on sõlminud merepäästetöö korraldamiseks tsiviilõigusliku lepingu; 2) keda Politsei- ja Piirivalveamet on tunnustanud vabatahtliku merepäästjana ja 3) kes vabatahtlikult osaleb Politsei- ja Piirivalveameti tegevuses käesolevas seaduses sätestatud alustel ja tingimustel., (1) For the purposes of this Act, a voluntary maritime rescuer is a person: 1) who is a member of a non-profit association with which the Police and Border Guard Board has concluded a civil law contract for the organisation of maritime rescue operations; 2) who has been acknowledged by the Police and Border Guard Board as a voluntary maritime rescuer; and 3) who voluntarily participates in the activity of the Police and Border Guard Board on the bases and conditions provided in this Act., defineeritakse selle seaduse ulatuses, defined within the scope of this Act
