(1) Väga raske laevaõnnetus on käesoleva seaduse tähenduses laevaõnnetus, millega kaasneb: 1) laevahukk; 2) inimese surm; 3) nafta sattumine vette koguses 10 tonni või enam; 4) naftasaaduste sattumine vette koguses 10 tonni või enam; 5) rahvusvahelise ohtlikku kemikaali mahtlastina vedava laeva ehituse ja seadmete koodeksi (edaspidi IBC koodeks) tähenduses Z kategooria keskkonnaohtlike kemikaalide sattumine vette koguses 10 tonni või enam; 6) IBC koodeksi tähenduses Y kategooria keskkonnaohtlike kemikaalide sattumine vette koguses 5 tonni või enam; 7) IBC koodeksi tähenduses X kategooria keskkonnaohtlike kemikaalide sattumine vette koguses 0,5 tonni või enam.
