(1) Edasikindlustustegevus on kindlustustegevus, kus edasikindlustuslepingu alusel võetakse üle kindlustusandjale üleantud kindlustusriskid eesmärgiga maksta kindlustusandjale kokkulepitud suuruses hüvitist seoses kindlustusandja ja kindlustusvõtja vahel sõlmitud kindlustuslepingu järgse kindlustusjuhtumiga.
