(1) Mere-reisijaveoleping on veoleping, millega üks pool (vedaja) kohustub teise poole ees vedama meritsi sihtkohta ühe või mitu isikut (reisija) koos pagasiga või ilma selleta. Teine pool kohustub maksma selle eest kokkulepitud tasu (reisitasu). Mere-reisijaveolepingule kohaldatakse võlaõigusseaduses reisijaveolepingu kohta sätestatut käesolevas peatükis sätestatud erisustega.

(1) A contract for the carriage of passengers by sea is a contract of carriage by which a party (the carrier) undertakes to another party to carry by sea one or more persons (passengers) to a destination with or without luggage. The other party undertakes to pay an agreed charge (the fare) therefor. The provisions of the Law of Obligations Act concerning contracts for the carriage of passengers apply to contracts for the carriage of passengers by sea with the specifications provided for in this Chapter.
