(1) Muinsuskaitseala on käesoleva seadusega sätestatud korras riigi kaitse alla võetud kultuuriväärtusega maa-ala, ajalooline asula või selle osa või inimese ja looduse koosmõjul väljakujunenud kultuurmaastik.
