(1) Konossement on kaubaväärtpaber, milles vedaja tunnistab kauba vedamiseks vastuvõtmist, kohustub vedama vastuvõetud kauba konossemendis kirjeldatud kujul sihtsadamasse ning andma selle seal üle isikule, kes esitab konossemendi ja on vastavalt konossemendile õigustatud kaupa vastu võtma.
