(1) Aukonsul on oma pädevuse piires konsulaarülesandeid täitev ametiisik, kelle valdkonna eest vastutav minister nimetab tähtajaliselt või määramata ajaks. Iga aukonsuli pädevuse määrab valdkonna eest vastutav minister käskkirjaga.

(1) An honorary consul is an official performing consular functions within the limits of his or her competence who is appointed by the minister in charge of the policy sector for a specified or an unspecified term. The minister in charge of the policy sector shall determine the competence of each honorary consul by a directive.
