(1) Euroopa vahistamismäärus on Euroopa Liidu liikmesriigi pädeva õigusasutuse tehtud taotlus teisele Euroopa Liidu liikmesriigile isiku kinnipidamiseks, vahi alla võtmiseks ning loovutamiseks kriminaalmenetluse jätkamise või jõustunud kohtulahendiga mõistetud vangistuse täideviimise eesmärgil.
