osutamata õendusabi
Usage examples
  • Osutamata õendusabi mõjutab oluliselt patsiendi ohutust ja sellega on seotud kõrge suremus, madal ravikvaliteet ja muud negatiivsed tagajärjed, nagu kukkumised, kopsupõletiku sagenemine, kuseteede infektsioonid, sepsis meditsiinilised vead, haiglasiseste infektsioonide suurenemine.
Good to know
  • Osutamata jäänud õendusabi põhjusteks on enamasti süsteemsed organisatsioonist tulenevad puudujäägid, nagu ebapiisav tööjõud, sellest tulenev ajapuudus ja läbipõlemine.
missed nursing care
Usage examples
  • Missed nursing care is now recognized as a global issue that harmfully affects not only patient safety and quality of care, but also organizational outcomes and nurse well-being. Studies have shown its association with decreased job satisfaction and increased intent to leave the nursing profession.
  • Our findings emphasize the significant role of staffing and workload pressures in missed nursing care. The most frequently reported reasons were “unexpected rise in patient volume and/or acuity on the unit” (78.1%), “inadequate number of staff” (76.5%), and “urgent patient situation” (73.5%). These findings highlight a critical mismatch between resource availability and patient care demands.
Good to know
  • There are times when they [nurses] find it impossible to fulfill all nursing care requirements or choose not to complete all aspects of care for a variety of reasons. In these circumstances, nurses may abbreviate the care, may delay the care (e.g. give a medication due at 09:00–11:30 hours.), or may simply omit the care (e.g. not developing the patient’s plan of care).
missed care
Usage examples
  • Virtually all nurses react to missed care with a great deal of emotion (e.g. anger, sadness, frustration, worry).
