the (fictional) world in which the situations and events narrated occur (Prince, 1987); the world evoked by narrative (Herman, 2009, p. 105). The time and place in which the story takes place, including all of the complex factors that come packaged with a given time and place: climate, terrain, population density, social structures and economic factors, customs, moral attitudes, and codes of behavior (Film-North, 2009).
