  • indentori löögile järgneva tagasipõrke kõrguse järgi (metallide korral Shore'i skleroskoopmeetod) või indenteerimisjälje sügavuse järgi (Shore`i duromeetermeetod kummi ja plastide korral ) määratav kõvadus (vt põrkekõvadus, duromeeterkõvadus)
    Good to know
    • Termin "Shore'i kõvadus" leiab valdavalt kasutust pehmete materjalide nagu kummi ja plastid kõvaduse määramisel. Kõvade materjalide korral kasutatakse valdavalt terminit "põrkekõvadus".
  • the hardness of (1) hard materials such as metals and ceramics applying the rebound test in which an indentor is dropped from a given height (scleroscope hardness test) or (2) the hardness of softer materials such as rubber, elastomers and plastics measuring the depth of imprint made in the specimen by an indenter using durometer (durometer hardness test) (see: sleroscope hardness, durometer hardness)
    Good to know
    • The term "Shore hardness" is prevalently applied to measasurement of hardness of rubber and plastics. For harder materials, such as metals and ceramics is commonly used the term "scleroscope hardness/Shore scleroscope hardness".
