in the context of peacekeeping operations, team dispatched to the problem area, a new mission site, (prior to the submission of a mission plan and financial implications), to gather data and to prepare an assessment concerning the force size and composition required and the logistical needs of the new peacekeeping operation, as well as report on the political, diplomatic, military and administrative support situation. The logistics, finance and administrative officers on the team assess the topography, infrastructure and availability of local and regional equipment, supplies and services to support a peacekeeping mission. A technical survey team also determines the mission factors to be applied to compensate the troop-contributing countries. [UNTERM]
