The maximum launch mass of the stack into GTO was takento be 10.5 tonnes which is compatible with Ariane 5 ECA andAriane 64, which will be able to deliver 11 tonnes if it meetsits performance targets. So the 10.5 tonnes was judged aconservative launch mass specification.
