Eestis on tähtsaimaks ruumiandmekoguks ETAK – Eesti topograafiline andmekogu. Ametlikult on nimetuseks küll „topograafia andmekogu“, kuid eesti keeles oleks korrektne öelda „Eesti topograafiline andmekogu“. Topograafia on valdkond, laiem mõiste, mis hõlmab lisaks topograafilistele andmetele andmete kogumist, selleks kasutatavaid meetodeid, nende teaduslikku väljatöötamist jne.
