Each day, or leg, has a few designated service parks between the stages, where the teams can – within strict time limits – perform maintenance and repairs on their cars.
A leg comprises a succession of road sections and timed stages (from 4 to 10 depending on their length).
To make things even more confusing, the rally is divided not only into stages, but also into legs. A leg is, generally, a day of driving. It usually includes two to four stages driven in the morning, with mid-day service afterwards and then the repeated run of the morning legs, though this varies from rally to rally.
