Destaining solution. Dilute 500 ml methanol and 200 ml glacial acetic acid to 2 000 ml with distilled water. Note: Prepare the destaining solution fresh every day; it can be prepared by mixing equal volumes of stock solutions of 50 % (v/v) methanol and 20 % (v/v) glacial acetic acid.
