Pursuant to the Law of Georgia on Securities Market and the Statute of the National Securities Commission of Georgia the most important powers granted to the Commission are supervision over the activity of securities market participants, control over their compliance with the requirements set by the law and application of relevant administrative measures against them.
The designation of a competent authority for prospectus approval should not exclude cooperation between that authority and other entities, with a view to guaranteeing efficient scrutiny and approval of prospectuses in the interest of issuers, investors, markets participants and markets alike.
