Notwithstanding the integration into this Agreement of the Community legislation concerning new pig disease and awaiting the outcome of ongoing discussions aimed at arriving, as soon as possible, at an overall agreement related to the application by Norway of this legislation, Norway may apply its own protective rules, based on a definition of non-affected regions, for live pigs, fresh meat, meat products and porcine semen.
