Usage examples
  • Rudder propellers and Voith-Schneider equipment Where remote control of rudder and Voith-Schneider propellers is electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic there must be two independent control systems between the steering station and the propulsion installation.
  • The steering gear of the vessel must be controlled by a horizontal lever. This lever must be easy to operate and the angle between the lever and the centreline of the vessel must accurately reflect the angle of deflection of the rudder plate. It must be possible to release the lever, whatever its position, without the position of the rudder plate changing. An equivalent control system is permitted for Voith-Schneider and steerable propellers.
