Along the line where the deck or side decks form an angle with the ship's side there must be toerails or stringer bars at least 0,03 m high and guard rails at least 0,90 m high ... On crewed vessels, protection against slipping or falling overboard must be provided by guardrails comprising a handrail, an intermediate protection at knee level and a toerail.
