In the case of motor vehicles having a brake coupling for trailers, it is advisable, as an exception to the requirements of item 1.1, not to measure the reaction time at the braking cylinder, but at the extremity of a pipe with a length of about 2 75 metres and an internal diameter of 13 mm which shall be joined to the brake coupling (coupling head) of the motor vehicle.
