The investigation has also shown that IGH consist of three basic types, namely "coaster brake hubs" (where the gearing system, as well as the back-pedalling braking system, are integrated in the hub), "drum brake hubs" (where the gearing system, as well as the hand-operated braking system, are integrated in the hub), and "freewheel hubs" (where only the gearing system is integrated in the hub), all having the same basic physical and technical characteristics and uses.
