  • wet-bulb temperature - the temperature at which pure water must be evaporated adiabatically at constant pressure into a given sample of air in order to saturate the air under steady-state conditions. It is approximated closely by the temperature indicated by a thermometer; freely exposed to the air (but shielded from radiation), whose bulb is covered muslin wetted with pure water.
