1. The chicken (Gallus domesticus) was domesticated in southern Asia at least 4,000 years ago from a parental stock of one or more species of jungle fowl.
2. This Regulation lays down Community marketing standards for
certain types and presentations of poultrymeat of the following
species as referred to in Article 1 (1) of Regulation (EEC) No
2777/75: - Gallus domesticus, ducks, geese, turkeys, guinea fowls.
