Jäämurdja kaptenil on õigus keelduda jäämurdeteenuse osutamisest laevale, mille kapten eirab tema korraldusi, teavitades sellest kohe laeva kaptenit, pärast mida on jäämurdja kaptenil õigus jätta selline laev maha ohutusse kohta.
